Peugeot Car Finance Claim — PCP & HP Compensation 2026

Scheme status (updated 5 August 2026): parts of the FCA motor finance redress scheme are temporarily suspended while the Upper Tribunal considers legal challenges. Lenders do not currently have to calculate or pay compensation under the scheme, the original decision and payment dates no longer apply, and no payment under the scheme is guaranteed. If the scheme proceeds, first payments are expected in 2027 at the earliest. Any dates mentioned below were set before the suspension.

If you financed a Peugeot vehicle between April 2007 and November 2024, you may be entitled to compensation under the FCA confirmed motor finance redress scheme (PS26/3, 30 March 2026). Peugeot Financial Services, operating through Stellantis Financial Services UK Ltd, provided PCP and HP agreements through the Peugeot franchised dealer network. Stellantis has set aside £37 million in provisions for motor finance redress, acknowledging its exposure under the scheme.

Who Provides Peugeot Car Finance?

Peugeot Financial Services is a trading name of Stellantis Financial Services UK Ltd — the captive finance arm of the Stellantis group, which also owns Citroën, Fiat, Vauxhall, DS and Opel. Prior to the Stellantis merger in 2021, Peugeot finance operated under the PSA Financial Services brand (PSA Group being the parent company of Peugeot and Citroën). If your agreement names Peugeot Financial Services, PSA Financial Services or Stellantis Financial Services, all refer to the same group entity.

Peugeot is one of the more established brands in the UK market, with a broad range of popular vehicles including the 208, 308, 3008, 2008 and 5008 — all frequently financed on PCP through franchised dealers. The scale of Peugeot finance volumes in the UK means a substantial number of eligible agreements exist within the scheme.

Is Peugeot Financial Services Covered by the FCA Scheme?

Yes. All FCA-regulated PCP and HP agreements arranged through Peugeot Financial Services / Stellantis Financial Services between 6 April 2007 and 1 November 2024 are within PS26/3. The complaint deadline is 31 August 2027.

Three Grounds for a Peugeot Car Finance Claim

1. Discretionary Commission Arrangements

Peugeot dealers arranging finance through PSA Financial Services / Stellantis Financial Services prior to 28 January 2021 could vary the customer interest rate within a lender-defined range, earning more commission the higher the rate. Where this was not disclosed at the point of sale, you are eligible for compensation.

What Is a DCA?

2. Unfairly High Fixed Commission

Post-January 2021 agreements may qualify where the fixed commission paid by Stellantis Financial Services to the dealer met the FCA threshold of 39% of total cost of credit and 10% of loan amount.

3. Stellantis Group-Wide Commission Practices

Because Peugeot, Citroën, Fiat and other Stellantis brands shared the same financial services infrastructure, commission practices were consistent across the group. Evidence of DCA practices or undisclosed commission arrangements in one Stellantis brand agreement is relevant context for claims across all Stellantis brands in the same period.

PSA Financial Services vs Stellantis Financial Services

Peugeot finance agreements prior to the Stellantis merger in 2021 will typically name PSA Financial Services as the lender. Agreements from 2021 onwards will name Stellantis Financial Services. Both entities are the same legal group and Stellantis Financial Services UK Ltd is the correct complaint recipient regardless of which trading name appears on the agreement.

How Much Could You Receive?

The FCA confirmed national average is £829 per eligible agreement. Your amount uses the hybrid remedy: averaging your estimated interest overpayment (17% APR reduction for post-April 2014 agreements, 21% for pre-April 2014) and the commission paid, plus compensatory interest at Bank of England base rate plus 1% per year.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Peugeot agreement says PSA Financial Services, not Peugeot Financial Services. Am I still covered?

Yes. PSA Financial Services was the trading name used before the Stellantis group merger in 2021. Both PSA Financial Services and Peugeot Financial Services are part of Stellantis Financial Services UK Ltd. Your agreement is fully within the scheme.

I financed a DS branded vehicle through the Peugeot/PSA network. Is that covered?

Yes. DS is a premium Stellantis brand and DS vehicles sold in the UK were financed through PSA Financial Services / Stellantis Financial Services. If your DS agreement falls within the eligible period it is within the scheme on the same basis as a Peugeot agreement.

I had both a Peugeot and a Citroën on finance through PSA. Can I claim for both?

Yes. Each eligible agreement is assessed independently. Both can generate separate compensation claims even though both were arranged through the same finance entity.

Think You May Have a Motor Finance Claim?

The FCA estimates average compensation of around £830 per eligible agreement, but eligibility and payment amounts vary. Some customers may receive nothing. Complaints about agreements started from 1 April 2014 should be submitted by 30 June 2026 to be considered under the earlier timetable. Different dates apply to older agreements. The scheme is currently subject to legal challenge, so dates and payment timings may change.
