Editorial Policy

Claims Bible publishes guides about UK compensation claims. Because our readers make financial decisions based on what we write, we hold our content to the standards below.

How our content is produced

Every guide is written and reviewed by Gavin Cooper, who has worked on Claims Bible since co-founding it in 2021. Content is drafted from primary sources, checked against the current legal and regulatory position, and reviewed again before publication.

Where our figures come from

We only publish compensation figures with a named, authoritative source:

  • Injury values — the Judicial College Guidelines for the Assessment of General Damages in Personal Injury Cases, 18th edition (April 2026)
  • Whiplash amounts — the statutory tariff in the Whiplash Injury Regulations 2021, as amended by SI 2025/615
  • Criminal injuries — the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme 2012 tariff
  • Car finance redress — the FCA's confirmed scheme methodology (PS26/3)
  • Flight delays — the fixed amounts under UK261, aligned with Civil Aviation Authority guidance
  • Housing disrepair — the percentage-of-rent approach set out in Wallace v Manchester City Council [1998]

Calculator estimates are indicative starting points, never valuations, and every calculator says so.

Dates and updates

Every guide shows its published and last-updated dates. We review content when the law, a regulator's position or a scheme changes — for example, pages were updated following the July 2026 Pan-NOx diesel judgment and the FCA's motor finance scheme suspension.

What we won't do

We don't guarantee outcomes, we don't publish figures we can't source, and we always explain the free alternative: you can complain directly to the firm concerned and escalate to the relevant ombudsman at no cost, without using Claims Bible or any claims management company.

Report an error

If you believe anything we've published is inaccurate, email info@claimsbible.com and we will review it promptly and correct it where needed.
