Fiat Car Finance Claim — PCP & HP Compensation 2026
Scheme status (updated 5 August 2026): parts of the FCA motor finance redress scheme are temporarily suspended while the Upper Tribunal considers legal challenges. Lenders do not currently have to calculate or pay compensation under the scheme, the original decision and payment dates no longer apply, and no payment under the scheme is guaranteed. If the scheme proceeds, first payments are expected in 2027 at the earliest. Any dates mentioned below were set before the suspension.
If you financed a Fiat vehicle on a PCP or HP agreement between April 2007 and November 2024, you may be entitled to compensation under the FCA confirmed motor finance redress scheme (PS26/3, 30 March 2026). Fiat Financial Services operated as part of the Stellantis Financial Services group in the UK, which has set aside £37 million for motor finance redress. This guide explains eligibility, how compensation is calculated, and how to complain.
Who Provided Fiat Car Finance?
Fiat Financial Services is a trading name used by Stellantis Financial Services UK Ltd — the captive finance arm of the Stellantis group, which owns Fiat, Citroën, Peugeot, DS, Vauxhall and other brands. In the UK, all Stellantis brand finance was processed through the same entity. If your finance paperwork names Fiat Financial Services, FCA Auto or Stellantis Financial Services, all relate to the same group lender.
Fiat has a particularly long history of manufacturer-backed finance in the UK, with agreements stretching back well before 2010 and covering popular models including the Fiat 500, Punto, Bravo and Doblo ranges as well as the wider Abarth performance range.
Stellantis Financial Services Claims
Is Fiat Financial Services Covered by the FCA Scheme?
Yes. All FCA-regulated PCP and HP agreements arranged through Fiat Financial Services between 6 April 2007 and 1 November 2024 fall within PS26/3. The complaint deadline is 31 August 2027. Stellantis Financial Services has confirmed it is reviewing its obligations under the scheme.
Three Grounds for a Fiat Car Finance Claim
1. Discretionary Commission Arrangements (DCAs)
Fiat dealerships could earn more commission by increasing the interest rate on your finance agreement within a range set by Fiat Financial Services. This was standard practice across the Stellantis network prior to the DCA ban on 28 January 2021. Where this commission was not disclosed to you, you are eligible for compensation.
2. Unfairly High Fixed Commission
Post-January 2021 agreements may still qualify where the fixed commission paid to the dealer met the FCA threshold of at least 39% of the total cost of credit and 10% of the loan amount. This applies across all Stellantis brand agreements.
3. Captive Finance Pressure
Fiat dealerships frequently presented manufacturer finance as the default or only option, without offering comparison alternatives. Where customers were not shown other finance products and the commission arrangement was undisclosed, this supports a claim regardless of whether a DCA was technically in place.
Abarth and Fiat Professional Agreements
Abarth vehicles sold in the UK were typically financed through the same Fiat Financial Services entity, as Abarth operates as a performance sub-brand of Fiat. Fiat Professional (commercial vehicles) agreements may also be within scope depending on the nature of the finance arrangement. If you financed an Abarth or a Fiat Professional vehicle in the eligible period, your agreement should be assessed in the same way as a standard Fiat consumer finance agreement.
How Much Could You Receive?
The FCA confirmed average is £829 per eligible agreement. Calculation uses the hybrid remedy — averaging your estimated interest overpayment (17% APR reduction for post-April 2014 agreements, 21% for pre-April 2014) and the commission paid by Fiat Financial Services to the dealer, plus compensatory interest at Bank of England base rate plus 1% per year.

Frequently Asked Questions
I financed an Abarth, not a Fiat. Is my agreement covered?
Yes. Abarth vehicles sold in the UK are financed through Fiat Financial Services / Stellantis Financial Services. The brand name on the car does not affect the eligibility of the finance agreement.
My Fiat agreement was from before 2010. Is it still claimable?
Agreements from April 2007 onwards are within scope. The further back the agreement, the larger the pre-2014 APR adjustment (21%) used in the hybrid remedy calculation, which can increase the compensation amount.
Can I claim for both a Fiat and a Peugeot agreement?
Yes. Each eligible agreement is assessed separately regardless of brand. Multiple Stellantis brand agreements each generate independent compensation claims.
Think You May Have a Motor Finance Claim?
The FCA estimates average compensation of around £830 per eligible agreement, but eligibility and payment amounts vary. Some customers may receive nothing. Complaints about agreements started from 1 April 2014 should be submitted by 30 June 2026 to be considered under the earlier timetable. Different dates apply to older agreements. The scheme is currently subject to legal challenge, so dates and payment timings may change.
