Lexus Car Finance Claim — PCP & HP Compensation 2026

Scheme status (updated 5 August 2026): parts of the FCA motor finance redress scheme are temporarily suspended while the Upper Tribunal considers legal challenges. Lenders do not currently have to calculate or pay compensation under the scheme, the original decision and payment dates no longer apply, and no payment under the scheme is guaranteed. If the scheme proceeds, first payments are expected in 2027 at the earliest. Any dates mentioned below were set before the suspension.

If you financed a Lexus vehicle between April 2007 and November 2024, you may be entitled to compensation under the FCA confirmed motor finance redress scheme (PS26/3, 30 March 2026). Lexus Financial Services, the captive finance arm of Lexus UK, provided PCP and HP agreements through the Lexus franchised dealer network and falls within the scope of the scheme.

Who Provides Lexus Car Finance?

Lexus Financial Services is a trading name used by Toyota Financial Services (UK) Plc — the same entity that provides finance for Toyota vehicles. Lexus is a wholly owned premium subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation, and both brands share their finance infrastructure in the UK. If your finance agreement names Lexus Financial Services or Toyota Financial Services as the lender, both refer to the same FCA-authorised entity.

Toyota Financial Services has set aside £155 million in provisions for motor finance redress across its Toyota and Lexus brands, one of the larger disclosed provisions among manufacturer-captive lenders. This level of provision reflects the significant volume of eligible agreements across both brands.

Why Lexus Claims May Be Above Average

Lexus positions itself as a premium brand competing with BMW, Audi and Mercedes. Average transaction values are significantly higher than mainstream brands, meaning loan amounts and commission payments tend to be larger. The hybrid remedy calculation — which is partly based on loan amount and commission paid — will typically produce above-average compensation for Lexus agreements compared to the national average of £829.

Three Grounds for a Lexus Car Finance Claim

1. Discretionary Commission Arrangements

Lexus dealerships arranging finance through Toyota Financial Services prior to 28 January 2021 could vary your interest rate within a lender-defined range, earning more commission the higher the rate. Where this was not disclosed at the point of sale, you are eligible for compensation.

What Is a DCA?

2. Unfairly High Fixed Commission

Post-January 2021 agreements may qualify where the fixed commission met the FCA threshold of 39% of total cost of credit and 10% of loan amount. Higher Lexus loan values mean this threshold is more frequently met than for average-priced vehicles.

3. Premium Captive Finance Positioning

Lexus dealerships presented manufacturer finance as the natural choice for premium brand customers. Where alternative finance options were not presented and the commission structure was not disclosed, this supports a claim under FCA conduct requirements.

Lexus Hybrid and EV Coverage

Lexus was an early leader in hybrid technology in the UK. PCP and HP agreements for Lexus hybrid models including the IS, ES, RX, NX, UX and LC hybrid variants are all within the scheme alongside the fully electric Lexus UX 300e, provided the agreement falls within the eligible period.

How Much Could You Receive?

The FCA confirmed national average is £829, but Lexus agreements frequently produce higher payouts due to larger loan amounts and higher commission values. Your amount uses the hybrid remedy: averaging your estimated interest overpayment (17% APR reduction for post-April 2014, 21% for pre-April 2014) and commission paid, plus compensatory interest at Bank of England base rate plus 1% per year.

Frequently Asked Questions

My paperwork says Toyota Financial Services but I had a Lexus. Why?

Lexus Financial Services is a trading name of Toyota Financial Services (UK) Plc. Both brands use the same legal entity for finance in the UK, so both names appear on documents depending on the period and dealer. Your agreement is within the scheme regardless of which name appears.

I had a Lexus IS hybrid on a long PCP. Will that produce a higher payout?

Longer term agreements and higher value vehicles both tend to produce larger compensation under the hybrid remedy, as both the loan amount and accumulated interest are larger. Your specific calculation depends on the original terms of your agreement.

Can I claim for a Lexus and a Toyota agreement separately?

Yes. Each eligible agreement generates a separate claim. If you had both a Lexus and a Toyota agreement through Toyota Financial Services in the eligible period, both can be claimed independently.

Think You May Have a Motor Finance Claim?

The FCA estimates average compensation of around £830 per eligible agreement, but eligibility and payment amounts vary. Some customers may receive nothing. Complaints about agreements started from 1 April 2014 should be submitted by 30 June 2026 to be considered under the earlier timetable. Different dates apply to older agreements. The scheme is currently subject to legal challenge, so dates and payment timings may change.
