Jaguar Car Finance Claim — PCP & HP Compensation 2026

Scheme status (updated 5 August 2026): parts of the FCA motor finance redress scheme are temporarily suspended while the Upper Tribunal considers legal challenges. Lenders do not currently have to calculate or pay compensation under the scheme, the original decision and payment dates no longer apply, and no payment under the scheme is guaranteed. If the scheme proceeds, first payments are expected in 2027 at the earliest. Any dates mentioned below were set before the suspension.

If you financed a Jaguar vehicle between 6 April 2007 and 1 November 2024, you may be entitled to compensation under the FCA confirmed motor finance redress scheme (PS26/3, 30 March 2026). Jaguar finance in the UK is provided by Jaguar Land Rover Financial Services — the captive finance arm of Jaguar Land Rover, now rebranded as JLR. Average payout: £829 — Jaguar vehicles carry above-average purchase prices so claimants often receive above the national average.

Who Provides Jaguar Car Finance?

Jaguar car finance in the UK is provided by Jaguar Land Rover Financial Services, the captive finance entity for both Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles. The entity operates under the JLR umbrella and provides PCP and HP agreements through franchised Jaguar dealer networks. Your complaint for any Jaguar agreement goes to Jaguar Land Rover Financial Services regardless of whether your paperwork says Jaguar Financial Services, JLR Financial Services or another variation.

Is Jaguar Finance Covered by PS26/3?

Yes. Jaguar Land Rover Financial Services is FCA-regulated and all regulated PCP and HP agreements it arranged through franchised Jaguar dealerships between 6 April 2007 and 1 November 2024 are within scope of PS26/3. The complaint deadline is 31 August 2027.

Three Grounds for a Jaguar Finance Claim

1. Discretionary Commission Arrangements (DCAs)

Prior to 28 January 2021, Jaguar dealers arranging finance through JLR Financial Services could vary your interest rate within a lender-defined range. The premium nature of Jaguar vehicles — and the correspondingly higher loan amounts — meant that DCA rate-setting on Jaguar agreements generated larger commissions than on mainstream vehicles.

2. Unfairly High Fixed Commission

Post-January 2021 agreements may qualify where the fixed commission met the FCA threshold of 39% of the total cost of credit and 10% of the loan amount. Given Jaguar’s above-average vehicle prices, this threshold is more likely to have been met.

3. Contractual Ties

The FCA scheme excludes the contractual tie ground where the lender and dealer share a visible brand association. As a manufacturer-captive lender, the Jaguar tie exclusion may apply. However, DCA and unfairly high commission grounds apply fully.

Why Jaguar Claimants Often Receive Above the £829 Average

Jaguar vehicles carry significantly higher purchase prices than mainstream cars. Higher loan amounts produce larger commissions, which feed directly into the hybrid remedy calculation. A £30,000 Jaguar XE agreement will typically produce a larger payout than a £12,000 mainstream car agreement even at the same APR. Combined with the compensatory interest accruing from the date of overpayment, Jaguar claimants with pre-2014 agreements in particular often receive substantially above the national average.

Jaguar Models Covered

All Jaguar models financed on PCP or HP through franchised UK dealers between April 2007 and November 2024 are covered, including: XE, XF, XJ, F-Type, E-Pace, F-Pace, I-Pace (EV), and XK. Both new and used Jaguar vehicles are within scope.

Scheme Timetable (Original Dates, Now Suspended)

Post-April 2014 agreements: Complain before 30 June 2026 → determination by 30 September 2026 → payment by November 2026

Pre-April 2014 agreements: Complain before 31 August 2026 → determination by 30 November 2026 → payment by January 2027

Final complaint deadline: 31 August 2027

How to Complain

Submit your complaint to Jaguar Land Rover Financial Services using the contact details on your original agreement or via the FCA’s official lender list at fca.org.uk/consumers/car-finance-complaints/list-lenders. Include:

  • Your full name and date of birth
  • Your address at the time of the agreement
  • The vehicle make, model and registration number if known
  • The approximate start date of the finance agreement
  • A statement that you are complaining about undisclosed commission arrangements under the FCA motor finance redress scheme (PS26/3)

What If My Lender Goes Bust?

Frequently Asked Questions

My paperwork says Jaguar Financial Services not Jaguar Land Rover Financial Services. Are they the same?

Yes. Jaguar Financial Services is a trading name used by Jaguar Land Rover Financial Services. Your complaint goes to the same entity.

I also have a Land Rover on finance. Can I claim for both?

Yes. Each eligible agreement is a separate claim. See: Land Rover Car Finance Claims and Multiple Car Finance Agreements

My Jaguar cost over £25,000. Am I still eligible?

Yes unless your loan was in the top 0.5% of loan values for that year — this high-value exclusion affects very few agreements. Standard Jaguar agreements are well within scope.

Think You May Have a Motor Finance Claim?

The FCA estimates average compensation of around £830 per eligible agreement, but eligibility and payment amounts vary. Some customers may receive nothing. Complaints about agreements started from 1 April 2014 should be submitted by 30 June 2026 to be considered under the earlier timetable. Different dates apply to older agreements. The scheme is currently subject to legal challenge, so dates and payment timings may change.
