Dacia Car Finance Claim — PCP & HP Compensation 2026
Scheme status (updated 5 August 2026): parts of the FCA motor finance redress scheme are temporarily suspended while the Upper Tribunal considers legal challenges. Lenders do not currently have to calculate or pay compensation under the scheme, the original decision and payment dates no longer apply, and no payment under the scheme is guaranteed. If the scheme proceeds, first payments are expected in 2027 at the earliest. Any dates mentioned below were set before the suspension.
If you financed a Dacia vehicle between April 2007 and November 2024, you may be entitled to compensation under the FCA confirmed motor finance redress scheme (PS26/3, 30 March 2026). Dacia finance in the UK is provided by RCI Financial Services Ltd — the same entity behind Renault Finance and Nissan Financial Services — and falls within the full scope of PS26/3. Average payout: £829.
Who Provides Dacia Car Finance?
Dacia finance in the UK is provided by RCI Financial Services Ltd, a subsidiary of RCI Banque — the financial services arm of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. RCI Financial Services Ltd operates under different trading names across the alliance brands:
- Renault Finance — for Renault vehicles
- Nissan Financial Services — for Nissan vehicles
- Dacia Finance — for Dacia vehicles
All three are the same legal entity. If your agreement names RCI Financial Services, Dacia Finance, or Renault Financial Services, all refer to the same lender. Your complaint goes to RCI Financial Services Ltd in every case.
Is Dacia Finance Covered by PS26/3?
Yes. All regulated PCP and HP agreements arranged through franchised Dacia dealerships between 6 April 2007 and 1 November 2024 are within scope of PS26/3. The complaint deadline is 31 August 2027.
Three Grounds for a Dacia Finance Claim
1. Discretionary Commission Arrangements (DCAs)
Prior to 28 January 2021, Dacia dealers arranging finance through RCI Financial Services could vary the interest rate within a lender-defined range, earning more commission the higher the rate. Where this was not disclosed, you are entitled to compensation.
2. Unfairly High Fixed Commission
Post-January 2021 agreements may qualify where the fixed commission met the FCA threshold of 39% of the total cost of credit and 10% of the loan amount.
3. Alliance Finance Shared Infrastructure
RCI Financial Services operated across Renault, Nissan and Dacia under shared commission structures. DCA practices applied consistently across all three brands during the eligible period.
Dacia Models Covered
All Dacia models financed on PCP or HP through franchised UK dealers between April 2007 and November 2024 are covered, including: Sandero, Logan, Duster, Jogger, Spring EV, Lodgy and Dokker. Both new and used Dacia vehicles are within scope.
How Much Could You Receive?
The FCA confirmed average payout is £829. Use our car finance claims calculator to estimate your specific amount. If you also had a Renault or Nissan agreement through RCI Financial Services, each is a separate claim — see: Multiple Car Finance Agreements.
Scheme Timetable (Original Dates, Now Suspended)
Post-April 2014 agreements: Complain before 30 June 2026 → lender must respond by 30 September 2026 → payment by November 2026
Pre-April 2014 agreements: Complain before 31 August 2026 → decision by 30 November 2026 → payment by January 2027
Final complaint deadline: 31 August 2027
Under the original timetable, complaining before 30 June 2026 placed you in the earliest payment cohort. Those dates are suspended; complaining is still free and puts your complaint on record, but no payment under the scheme is guaranteed while the suspension stands.
How to Complain to RCI Financial Services (Dacia Finance)
Submit your complaint using the contact details on your original agreement or via the FCA’s official lender list at fca.org.uk/consumers/car-finance-complaints/list-lenders. Include:

- The vehicle make, model and registration number if known
- The approximate start date of the finance agreement
- A statement that you are complaining about undisclosed commission arrangements under the FCA motor finance redress scheme (PS26/3)

Frequently Asked Questions
My paperwork says RCI Financial Services, not Dacia Finance. Are they the same?
Yes. RCI Financial Services Ltd is the legal entity behind Dacia Finance in the UK. Both names refer to the same lender.
I financed a Dacia Duster used from a franchised dealer. Is that covered?
Yes. Used vehicles financed through franchised Dacia dealers on PCP or HP between April 2007 and November 2024 are fully within scope.
I have a Dacia and a Renault both financed through RCI. Can I claim for both?
Yes. Each agreement is a separate claim. See: Multiple Car Finance Agreements.
I financed a Dacia after January 2021. Am I eligible?
Yes. PS26/3 covers agreements up to November 2024. Post-January 2021 agreements are assessed under the unfairly high fixed commission ground.
Think You May Have a Motor Finance Claim?
The FCA estimates average compensation of around £830 per eligible agreement, but eligibility and payment amounts vary. Some customers may receive nothing. Complaints about agreements started from 1 April 2014 should be submitted by 30 June 2026 to be considered under the earlier timetable. Different dates apply to older agreements. The scheme is currently subject to legal challenge, so dates and payment timings may change.
